A little about me...

My mother always warned me not to be like her in one crucial way. “ Don’t dabble, Camille. Don’t be a jack of all trades and master of none.”

That phrase always stuck with me. Jack of all trades, master of none. The message is clear: we should all have one thing in life that we master. One thing that is our unique expertise.

The thing is, I’m not sure that’s quite right either. We shouldn’t be a “master of none,” but why not be a master of many? We have a lifetime, after all.

Writing allowed me to master many marketing facets (view my content and events resumes), but is this it? Is this the grind I want for the rest of my life?

Eleven years into my career, I am still taking new risks. I am working toward mastering something with little to no burnout - something that would never fail to excite me as I wake up every morning. Equipped with my past experiences, I have entered the wine industry in hopes of becoming a Master of Wine. In the future, I'll use this education and my marketing career to open a family vineyard centered around wine and wellness.

I have tons to learn, but tons to contribute as well, and am excited to continue working with wine businesses as well as organizations that can provide me with new challenges and skills.

So that’s my little summary. A dabbler and a master. I’m hoping we can get creative together. Send me a message!

That’s what I’ve decided to do. Jack of all trades, master of a few. My first mastered skill is writing. As a child, you couldn’t find me without my nose buried in a book. I hunted Moby Dick with Captain Ahab and Ishmael, won quidditch games alongside Harry Potter, and challenged the social status quo with Jane Austen’s Emma.

I knew I’d one day want to craft these worlds that allow readers to adventure and explore in ways that may not be physically possible. With this in mind, I studied English Literature and Creative Writing at San Francisco State University. As I worked through my college courses, it quickly became apparent that books aren’t exactly money makers right away, but fortunately, every business needs writers, so I began my career on content and marketing teams with a variety of tech startups.

I started with blogs and landing pages and eventually began to learn the difference between a witty tweet and a solid email subject line. I discovered how influential copy could be in social media and google ads and took on content strategy positions. My work led me to event marketing, awakening my passion for event management, plus taught me the value of events as a part of marketing strategies.
